Hi there! I am Studyfin. Today we will explore how colors work together!
Artists use a tool called a color wheel. It is a circle that shows different colors. We see these same colors in nature and in things we make.

Red, yellow, and blue are primary colors. They are the start of all other colors. We mix them to make new colors.
We can find patterns in art and nature. A pattern is a shape or color that repeats. Look at how the colors repeat on a wheel!
✏️ Worked example
Let us find the pattern on a toy block. The block has stripes of red, blue, red, blue, and red. What color comes next?
- Look at the first color. It is red.
- Look at the second color. It is blue.
- Look at the third color. It is red again.
- See how the colors repeat. The pattern goes red, then blue.
- The last color shown was red. So, the next color must be blue!
