Hi there! I am Studyfin. Today we will learn how to keep our accounts safe and what we can share online!
When you use a computer, you have private accounts. You must keep them safe. Always lock or log off your device when you walk away.
Your login details are like a secret key. Never share your password with anyone, not even your best friends! Only your parents or teachers should know.
Some information is safe to share online, like your favorite color or your hobbies. Other information is unsafe, like your real name, school, or where you live.
✏️ Worked example
Let us think about a student named Leo. He is playing a game online. Another player asks Leo for his school name and his favorite sport. What should Leo do?
First, Leo looks at the first piece of information: his school name. A school name shows where he goes every day. This is unsafe identifying information.
Next, Leo looks at the second piece of information: his favorite sport. Sharing that he likes soccer is a hobby. This is safe to share.
Then, Leo decides to only share his favorite sport.
Finally, Leo tells the player he cannot share his school name. He keeps his private information safe!
