Hi there! I am Studyfin, your learning buddy. Today we will learn how to stay safe and happy while exploring online!
When you play games or study online, you use a user account. Keeping your account safe is like locking your front door.
To protect your account, never share your password with friends. Always log off when you finish using a computer or tablet.
Some information is safe to share online, like your favorite color or your hobbies. Other information must stay secret, like your real name, school, or phone number.
✏️ Worked example
Leo wants to make a profile for a new coding game. He needs to choose what to share. Let us help Leo sort his information into 'Safe' and 'Unsafe' groups.
First, look at Leo's favorite sport. He loves soccer. Sharing that he likes soccer does not tell anyone where he lives, so this is safe.
Next, look at his school name, 'Oak Tree Elementary'. Sharing this could help a stranger find him, so this is unsafe.
Then, look at his password. Leo should never share his password with anyone, so this is unsafe.
Finally, look at his favorite food. Pizza is a common food. Sharing this is safe and fun!
