When you speak to a group, your body and voice work together. We need to look at our friends and speak at a good speed.
Eye contact means looking at your listeners. It shows you are ready to share. Try to look at different friends in the room.
Your speaking rate is how fast you talk. If you speak too fast, people might get lost. If you speak too slow, they might get sleepy.

Let us practice presenting. Imagine you want to tell your class about your favorite book, 'The Magic Treehouse'. How do we do this step-by-step using eye contact and a good speaking rate?
First, stand up straight and take a deep breath to feel calm.
Next, look up and make eye contact with three friends in different parts of the room.
Start speaking. Say, 'My favorite book is...' in a clear voice.
Check your speed. Count 'one, two' in your head between sentences so you do not rush.
Smile and keep your eyes on your class until you finish your last sentence.
