Every sentence needs a capital letter at the start. It shows the reader where the idea begins.

Sentences also need a mark at the end. A period stops a telling sentence. A question mark asks something.

We also capitalize names of people and places. These are called proper nouns. They are special names.

Edit this draft to fix the grammar mistakes: "the dog ran to texas"

  1. Look at the first word 'the'. It starts the sentence, so it needs a capital T.
  2. Look at the word 'texas'. It is the name of a state, so it needs a capital T.
  3. Look at the end of the sentence. It needs a period to show the idea is done.
  4. Write the new sentence: 'The dog ran to Texas.'
