Imagine you want to convince your school principal to allow longer recess. Let's write a mini-argument using our steps.
Step 1: Write an introduction with a clear claim. Example: 'Our school should have twenty more minutes of recess each day.'
Step 2: Add a body sentence with a fact. Example: 'Studies show that exercise helps kids focus much better during math class.'
Step 3: Add another body sentence with an example. Example: 'For instance, after playing tag, students are calm and ready to learn.'
Step 4: Write a conclusion that wraps it up. Example: 'Longer recess will make us healthier and better students, so please add more playtime!'
