Your voice and posture also tell a story. Stand tall, speak clearly, and use a friendly tone to help your classmates understand your critique.
✏️ Worked example
Imagine you are presenting a review of the movie 'The Lion King' to your class. Walk through the steps to deliver this critique with great eye contact and posture.
Write down three main points on a small cue card: the beautiful animation, the great music, and the sad middle scene.
Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart to keep your body stable and relaxed.
Before you start speaking, look at three different friends in the room and smile.
Begin speaking. As you talk about the music, look at a classmate on the left side of the room for a few seconds.
When you transition to talking about the animation, shift your gaze to a classmate on the right side of the room.
Finish your review by looking directly at your teacher or the center of the room to show a strong, confident ending.
