Hi there! I am Studyfin, your learning buddy. Today we will explore the four main regions of the United States!

A region is a large area of land. The places in a region share things like weather, land, and history. The United States is split into four big regions.

Let us look at the Northeast and the South. The Northeast has cold winters and rocky coasts. The South is warm and has flat, sandy beaches.

Next are the Midwest and the West. The Midwest has flat, grassy plains that are great for farming. The West has giant, snowy mountains and wide-open spaces.

Imagine you are visiting a US state. It has huge, tall mountains. It sits right next to the Pacific Ocean. Which region are you visiting?

  1. First, look at the clues in the story. The clues are 'tall mountains' and 'Pacific Ocean'.
  2. Next, think about the four regions. The Northeast is rocky and cold. The South is warm and sandy. The Midwest is very flat.
  3. Then, remember that the West is famous for its giant mountains and ocean coast.
  4. Last, match your clues to the West. You are visiting the West region!
