Hi there! I am Studyfin, your geography buddy. Let's explore the seven giant pieces of land on our Earth!
Our Earth is huge. It has large areas of land called continents. There are seven continents in total.

We can find these continents on maps and globes. Oceans of blue water separate most of these landmasses.
Asia is the biggest continent. Australia is the smallest one. Antarctica is covered in thick ice at the bottom of the world.
✏️ Worked example
Let us find and name the continent at the very bottom of a globe. We will look at its features to identify it.
- Look at the very bottom of the globe.
- Find the large land area that is colored white for ice.
- See how the cold Southern Ocean surrounds this land.
