Geographers use a special chart called a population pyramid. It shows the age and gender of people in a place. A wide bottom means there are many young children, which shows the population is growing very fast.
Look at a town next to a dry desert and a town next to a wide, flowing river. Explain why the river town will likely grow larger than the desert town.
