The Earth is wrapped in a blanket of gases. This blanket traps heat from the sun to keep us warm.
When people burn fuels like coal or gas, we add extra heat-trapping gases into the air. This makes the blanket thicker and warms the planet.
We can help the Earth by using clean energy like wind and solar power. Planting trees also removes harmful gases from the air.
