Hi there! I am Studyfin, your helper. Today we will explore how people move and how they change the places they live!

Have you ever moved to a new home? People move to new places every day. This movement is called migration, and it shapes our world.

Why do people move? Push factors are problems that make people want to leave a place. Pull factors are attractions that draw people to a new place.

PUSH (Leave) PULL (Enter) No jobs or bad weather Great jobs and safety

When people move, they bring their culture with them. This changes the character of a place. It changes the local food, music, laws, and jobs.

✏️ Worked example

Let us analyze how a new community of immigrants might change the character of a small town. We will look at political, economic, and social parts of the town step by step.

  1. First, look at the economy: The new residents start businesses. They open grocery stores and restaurants. This creates new jobs for the town.
  2. Second, look at the social life: The new residents share their language, holidays, and music. The town holds a new spring festival that everyone enjoys together.
  3. Third, look at the political side: As the community grows, they vote for leaders who care about their needs. They might ask for signs in different languages to help everyone.
  4. Lastly, combine these ideas: We see that migration does not just change the population size. It completely shapes the town's unique character!
