Finally, practice your escape plan twice a year with your family. Test your smoke alarms every month so you know they work properly.

1. Find exit 1: Alex uses the main bedroom door to reach the hallway.
2. Find exit 2: If smoke blocks the hallway, Alex uses the bedroom window.

4. Add emergency contacts: Alex writes down 911 on the plan.
