A riddle is a word puzzle. To solve it, we must analyze the clues, make a plan, find a solution, and then check if our answer makes sense.

First, we analyze the clues. We separate the helpful facts from the tricky words. This is just like finding the knowns and unknowns in a math problem.

Clue: I have keys but no locks.Analyzing: Keyboards? Music?

Next, we evaluate our strategy. We test our guess against every single clue to see if it fits perfectly. If one clue does not match, we change our plan.

Let's use our problem-solving model to solve this riddle: 'I have keys but no locks. I have space but no room. You can enter but you cannot go outside. What am I?'

  1. Analyze the given information: The object has 'keys', 'space', and 'enter'. It does not have 'locks' or 'room'. You cannot go 'outside' of it.
  2. Formulate a strategy: Look for double meanings. Words like 'keys', 'space', and 'enter' can refer to a physical place, or they can refer to computer keyboard buttons.
  3. Determine a solution: A computer keyboard has letter keys (no locks), a space bar (no room), and an Enter key (you cannot walk outside it). Our proposed solution is a keyboard.
  4. Justify the solution: A keyboard fits all three clues. It has keys (typing), space (spacebar), and enter (return key). No other object fits all three.
  5. Evaluate the process: The solution is highly reasonable because computer terminology perfectly matches the wordplay in the clues.
