We can write percentages in different ways! For example, 25% is the same as the fraction 25/100, which simplifies to 1/4. That is why 25% of a sandwich is the same as one quarter of it!

Find 25% of 40.
Remember that 25% means '25 out of 100'.
Write 25% as a fraction: 25/100.
Simplify the fraction 25/100 by dividing the top and bottom by 25. This gives you 1/4.
Now, find 1/4 of 40 by dividing 40 by 4.
40 divided by 4 equals 10. So, 25% of 40 is 10!
