A push or a pull can change how things move. A push moves an object away. A pull moves it closer.
Simple machines help us push and pull things with less hard work. An inclined plane is a ramp that helps us push a heavy box up into a wagon.
Let us plan a test with a swing. If you give a small push, the swing moves a little. A big push changes its motion and makes it go high!

How can you change the position and motion of a heavy ball on the grass?
- First, look at the ball staying still on the grass.
- Next, use your foot to give the ball a strong push forward.
- Then, observe how the push changes the ball from still to moving.
- Finally, pull on a rope tied to the ball to bring it back to you!
