The water cycle is the way water moves. It goes up into the sky and then comes back down. This keeps our Earth green and healthy.
First, the warm sun heats up the water in lakes and oceans. This water turns into warm gas and rises. We call this step evaporation.
Next, the warm gas cools down high in the air. It turns back into tiny drops of water. We call this step condensation. These drops stick together to make fluffy clouds.
Finally, the clouds get too heavy with water. The water falls back to the ground as rain or snow. This is called precipitation.
Let us write a short story about a little water drop named Drip. We want to show how Drip goes through the whole water cycle.
- First, we start with Drip resting in a warm blue lake under the hot sun.
- Next, Drip gets very warm and floats up into the sky as light gas.
- Then, Drip cools down and joins other drops to make a fluffy white cloud.
- Last, the cloud gets heavy, and Drip falls back to the lake as a cool raindrop.
