Hello there! I'm Studyfin, your science buddy. Today, we are going to explore the incredible skeleton that supports your body!
Did you know that you have a super strong frame inside your body? It is called your skeleton, and it is made of bones!
Your skeleton acts like the wooden frame of a house. It holds you upright so you don't turn into a puddle of jelly on the floor!
Bones also protect your soft inside parts. For example, your hard, round skull acts like a natural helmet to protect your brain.
✏️ Worked example
How do our bones help us move our arms and legs?
- 1. Bones are hard and cannot bend on their own.
- 2. Two or more bones meet at special places called joints (like your elbow or knee).
- 3. Strong muscles are attached to these bones.
- 4. When your muscles pull on the bones, the joints bend, allowing you to walk, run, and wave!
