The Sun is the engine of our weather. It shines down and heats up the water in our giant oceans.
When the ocean warms up, some water turns into invisible gas. This is called evaporation, and the warm air carries it high into the sky.
High in the sky, the warm water gas cools down. It forms clouds and falls back to Earth as rain, which creates our daily weather.

Explain how the Sun and the ocean work together to create a rainy day at the beach.
- First, analyze the role of the Sun. The Sun shines bright and heats up the surface water of the ocean.
- Next, explain how the water changes. The warm liquid water turns into water vapor gas and rises.
- Then, look at what happens high in the air. The gas cools down and forms fluffy clouds.
- Finally, connect this to weather. When the clouds get heavy, water falls as rain on the beach.
