A citizen is a member of a group or country. Good citizens help their community. They follow rules to keep everyone safe.
Good citizens have rights and duties. A right is something you are free to do. A duty is a job you must do to help others.
We can show good citizenship every day. We can clean up trash. We can also help a friend who is sad.

Let us look at a story. Sam sees trash on the school playground. How can Sam show good citizenship?
- First, Sam thinks about the school rules. The rules say to keep the school clean.
- Next, Sam knows it is a duty to help. He wants his friends to have a clean place to play.
- Then, Sam picks up the trash. He puts it in the recycling bin.
- Last, Sam feels proud. He did his duty as a good school citizen!
