Current events

Grade 7 · Social Studies · Free lesson

Hi there! Today we are going to explore current events and learn how to understand the news around us.

Current events are important things happening in the world right now. They can happen in your own neighborhood or far away in another country.

To understand a news story, we look for the '5 Ws'. These are Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Finding these five facts helps us get the whole picture.

WHO WHAT WHERE WHEN WHY

We also need to separate facts from opinions. Facts are statements that can be proven true, while opinions show how someone feels about a topic.
