When we read about a current event, we need to find the facts. Good reporters always answer five key questions: Who, What, Where, When, and Why. We call these the 5 Ws of news reporting.
It is also vital to separate facts from opinions. Facts are statements that can be proven true with evidence. Opinions show how someone feels about a topic and cannot be proven.
