In Spanish, we do not capitalize the days of the week. The week starts with lunes (Monday) — LOO-nehs.
Let us look at the word sol (sun). It helps us remember domingo (Sunday) — doh-MEEN-goh, when the sun shines bright!
Seasons are called estaciones (seasons) — ehs-tah-see-OH-nehs. In el otoño (fall) — el oh-TOHN-yoh, colorful leaves fall to the ground.

Imagine your school play is on the first day of the work week. What Spanish day is that? Let us figure it out step by step!
- We need to find the first day of the work week. That day is Monday.
- Now we think of the Spanish word for Monday.
- We remember that Monday is lunes (Monday) — LOO-nehs.
- So, the school play is on lunes!
