¡Hola! Let's learn how to talk about days, months, and seasons in Spanish!
In Spanish, we do not capitalize days or months. We say 'lunes' (Monday) with a lowercase 'l'.
Let's look at the days of the week! They start with lunes (Monday) and end with domingo (Sunday).
The four seasons are la primavera (spring), el verano (summer), el otoño (autumn), and el invierno (winter).
✏️ Worked example
Translate this sentence into English: 'Mi estación favorita es el invierno.'
- Find the word 'Mi'. This means 'My'.
- Look at the word 'estación'. This means 'season'.
- Find 'favorita'. This means 'favorite'. Now we have 'My favorite season'.
- Look at 'es'. This means 'is'.
- Find 'el invierno'. This means 'the winter' or just 'winter'.
- Put it all together: 'My favorite season is winter.'
