Hi there! I am Studyfin, your learning buddy. Today we are going to explore the amazing achievements of ancient India!
Long ago, people built great cities along the Indus River. These cities had straight streets, brick houses, and clean water systems. This shows they were excellent at planning.
Later, the Mauryan Empire united most of India. A famous ruler named Ashoka helped spread Buddhism. He carved rules about peace and kindness onto giant stone pillars.
Next came the Gupta Empire, which was a Golden Age of science. Indian thinkers created the number zero and discovered that the Earth rotates around the sun.
✏️ Worked example
Let us compare how religion influenced ancient India and ancient Persia. How did their beliefs change how people lived?
Find the main religion or philosophy for each place. In India, Ashoka used Buddhism to teach peace. In Persia, people followed Zoroastrianism, which focused on good thoughts and good deeds.
Look at how these beliefs changed the rulers. Ashoka stopped fighting wars and helped his people. Persian kings built roads to connect people and treated different cultures with respect.
Compare the two. Both beliefs encouraged rulers to treat people fairly and do good deeds, rather than just using force.
Explain the big picture. This shows that religious and philosophical ideas made ancient leaders rule with more kindness.
