A composer is a person who writes music. They write notes on paper. Then musicians play the songs.
Mozart was a famous composer. He began writing music when he was very young. He played the piano.
Beethoven was another famous writer of music. He wrote loud and soft songs. He kept making music even when he could not hear.

How can you tell what a composer does?
- 1. Think of a song you like.
- 2. Remember that someone had to make up the tune.
- 3. That person wrote down the notes.
- 4. The person who wrote the tune is the composer!
