In Chinese, some animal words sound like animal noises. Learning them is super fun and easy!
The Chinese word for cat is 猫, spoken as māo. It sounds just like a kitten saying meow!
The word for dog is 狗, spoken as gǒu. Say gǒu when you see a happy dog!

How do you remember the Chinese words for 'cat' and 'dog'?
- 1. Think of a cat saying 'meow'.
- 2. Connect 'meow' to the Chinese word māo (猫).
- 3. Think of a pet dog running to play.
- 4. Remember the word gǒu (狗) for dog.
- 5. Now you can say māo for cat and gǒu for dog!
