Bonjour! Today we will learn how to say the days, months, and seasons in French. It is super easy and fun!
In French, we do not capitalize the days of the week. Let's look at the days! Monday is 'lundi', Tuesday is 'mardi', and Wednesday is 'mercredi'.

The weekend days are 'samedi' for Saturday and 'dimanche' for Sunday. Watch how they line up in order!
Now let's learn the seasons. In French, summer is 'l'été'. It is warm and sunny!
✏️ Worked example
Imagine your birthday is on a Saturday in the summer. How would you write 'a Saturday in summer' in French?
- First, find the French word for Saturday. Saturday is 'samedi'. Remember, do not use a capital letter!
- Next, find the French word for 'in' when talking about seasons. For summer, we use 'en'.
- Then, find the French word for summer. Summer is 'été'.
- Put them all together! 'A Saturday in summer' becomes 'un samedi en été'.
