Bonjour! Today we will learn how to talk about yummy foods in French.

In French, we use different words for 'the' before a food. We use 'le' for masculine foods and 'la' for feminine foods.

Let us look at an apple. In French, an apple is 'la pomme'. It is a feminine word, so we use 'la'.

Now let us look at cake! Cake is 'le gâteau'. It is a masculine word, so we use 'le'.

How do you say 'the cheese' in French? Cheese is a masculine word in French (fromage).

First, find the French word for cheese. The word is 'fromage'.
Next, check if the word is masculine or feminine. The problem says it is masculine.
Then, pick the correct word for 'the'. We use 'le' for masculine words.
Finally, put them together to get 'le fromage'!
