Counting in French is super easy and fun. Just like in English, every number has its own special name. Let's start with the first three numbers: un (one), deux (two), and trois (three).
Let's look at how we say 'one' and 'two' in French. 'Un' sounds like 'uh', and 'deux' sounds like 'duh'. Watch how one apple turns into two apples!
Next come three, four, and five! In French, we say 'trois' (three), 'quatre' (four), and 'cinq' (five). 'Trois' sounds like 'twah', 'quatre' like 'kat', and 'cinq' like 'sank'. Let's count them step-by-step.

Imagine you see 4 blue birds in a tree. How do you count them in French from 1 to 4?
- First, find the French word for 1. It is 'un'. We count the first bird: 'un'.
- Next, find the French word for 2. It is 'deux'. We count the second bird: 'deux'.
- Then, find the French word for 3. It is 'trois'. We count the third bird: 'trois'.
- Finally, find the French word for 4. It is 'quatre'. We count the fourth bird: 'quatre'!
- Awesome! You counted all 4 birds in French: un, deux, trois, quatre.
