Bonjour! Let's learn how to count to ten in French. It is super easy and fun!
In French, we use different words for our everyday numbers. Counting from one to five is the perfect place to start.
Let us look at the first three numbers: un (1), deux (2), and trois (3). Watch how they build up one by one!
Next come quatre (4) and cinq (5). Notice how the word 'cinq' ends with a 'q' but sounds like the English word 'sank'!
Let us compare English and French. Some words look similar, like six (6) and ten (dix). But we pronounce them differently!

How do you count a group of four apples in French step by step?
- First, look at the first apple and say 'un' (one).
- Next, point to the second apple and say 'deux' (two).
- Then, move to the third apple and say 'trois' (three).
- Finally, point to the last apple and say 'quatre' (four). You have counted quatre apples!
